In the state of California, children have lots of time after school where they can participate in after-school programs, sports programs, and other group activities. Specifically in the neighborhood of Northridge, Los Angeles, there are many sports leagues for children as well as school related after school learning enrichment programs.

After school programs should be offered in all schools and are beneficial to students that are waiting for their parents or looking for something positive to do with their time. -Lauren
After school programs has helped kids stay out of trouble as well as study harder in schools. Thanks to things like the YMCA children have activities to do in their free time that help them stay out of trouble.

After school programs help a lot of students stay in track instead of doing nothing at home. Most of the students after school stay and join sports or continue their studies if they dont understand a certain lesson.
After school problems keep children out of trouble. Because of these programs they have activites that take up their time and are less likely to get into community degrading activities such as gangs. Sports and other programs are a great way to preserve the quality of life in our community
